  • INDICATIONS

    Colospa prevents nerve signals passing through to the muscle in the intestines. It helps the muscle to relax, preventing painful spasm.

    INSTRUCTIONS

    Take exactly as prescribed by your Health Provider.

    Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and take the medicine at the next regularly scheduled time. Do not take extra medicine to make up the missed dose.

    DOSAGE

    You should take 135 mg Colospa hydrochloride (1 tablet) 3 times a day, before meals. After a few weeks of treatment when the health-giving effect has been obtained, the dosage may be gradually lowered.

    STORAGE 

    Store this medicine at room temperature in a tightly-closed container, away from heat and light.

    SAFETY INFORMATION

    Use Colospa with caution in the following cases: failure of function of part of the gut causing an obstruction (paralytic ileus); life long inherited blood diseases which can cause a variety of symptoms, including mental health problems (porphyrias).

    In case you become pregnant, consult with your doctor and discuss the benefits and risks of taking Colospa while pregnancy. The safety of Colospa 135 mg in pregnancy has not been proved. In case you are or will be breast-feeding a baby while you use Colospa, consult with your doctor and discuss any possible risks to your baby. The harmful effects are not known in case this medicine is used while breastfeeding a baby.

    Drug interactions can result in unwanted side effects or prevent a medicine from doing its job. Some medicines or medical conditions may interact with this medicine. Inform your doctor or pharmacist of all prescription and over-the-counter medicine that you are taking.

    SIDE EFFECTS

    You should consult with your doctor in case you have any of side effects especially bothersome listed below: Constipation, confusion, agitation.
